Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone enjoys the day with their loved ones!
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone enjoys the day with their loved ones!
Pink is my favorite color and polar bears are my favorite animal, so it should come as no surprise that I chose to use a pink color scheme with polar bears to decorate for the holidays. This post is coming a bit later than I would have liked, but I’ve included where to find my Christmas decorations in case you are decorating at the last minute!
Bow Tree Topper: My amazing friend Amanda made this for me using this ribbon! A bow this size takes about 2 spools of the ribbon.
Tree Skirt: This is actually a funny story. I ordered a tree skirt (without doing research on what size to get) and the delivery date kept getting pushed back. Once it finally arrived (I was pretty excited), I opened it and realized that the one I bought is actually way too small for my tree. But by the time it arrived I didn’t have time to return it and get another one, so we had to make do for these pictures. Needless to say I will be returning it, but this one is a better size!
Ornaments: These I have been collecting over the years, but most of them are from Hobby Lobby!
Rose Gold Tree fillers: I got these from Michaels this year, but I couldn’t find them online, so check in store!
Wrapping Paper: The reindeer paper is a few years old and I got the white paper from TJ Maxx, so you may be able to find this exact one! This one from Target is very similar!
Pajamas: My pajamas are from last year, but I also love these (and they’re currently on sale for under $10!)
Polar Bear: I got this as a gift last year (and added his pink bow tie), but I have seen similar ones at TJ Maxx!
Plaid Blanket Scarf: I am of the belief that there is no such a thing as “too many blanket scarves”, and I love the coloring of this one (and it’s under $15!).
Black Wallet: For those who like a more simple, classic design. You can never go wrong with Kate Spade!!
Watch: Wristology makes my favorite watches, and this one is on my Christmas list this year. So many options, but this rose gold mesh band is my current favorite. (And if you buy it now, you can save 20% with the code SAVE20)
Earrings: These are from the SUGARFIX by BaubleBar collection for Target and are perfect for the holidays (and for any Georgia Dawg)!
Shoes: These are my absolute favorite shoes to wear to the gym. When I first saw them I thought that there was no way such beautiful shoes could be comfortable, but I was so wrong. I wear them every morning and am also buying them in the grey color!
Necklace: Simple bar necklaces are part of my everyday jewelry and I am always in the market to add to my collection (and it’s monogrammed!).
Planner: This planner comes in several super cute patterns, but the marble is my favorite!
Purse: I am obsessed with this velvet crossbody (and really anything velvet), and it’s the perfect bag to carry to any holiday events.
Buying gifts for men has always been difficult for me because most have no interest in glitter and/or anything pink. So I have put together a gift guide for all the men in your life to try to make your holiday shopping easier!
Wireless Ear Buds: These are perfect for the athletic guy or for the traveler or really for anyone who hates dealing with tangled ear bud cords.
Monogrammed Old Fashioned Glasses : These are perfect for guys’ nights and come in several monogram options.
Dress Shirt: For the business-man in your life.
Marble Drink Stones : For the drink enthusiast (and the greatest part is that these are under $20!).
Bow Tie : What holiday party is complete without a seasonal bow tie?
Flask: While it is technically a gift for him, who says it isn’t also for you to use.
Well it has been quite a while since I’ve posted, but I have a lot to report and this year has been full of big life changes. In February I got accepted into my first choice veterinary school, University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!). In May, I graduated from Miami with my degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Molecular Biology. I also somehow managed to find an apartment in Georgia (from Oxford, Ohio). I do not recommend trying to find an apartment from 500 miles away unless you absolutely have to. I went on a few vacations over the summer and in July I moved to Athens. I started vet school at the beginning of August and time has flown by ever since. I’m preparing to finish my first semester of vet school (only 7 semesters left haha)! And that is a (very, very) brief summary of my past year. I am so excited to get back into blogging now that life has calmed down a little (or as calm as it’s ever going to get in vet school)! And in case you’ve missed seeing my face, here are some pictures from this past year.
The beauty in the middle is Amanda, who is now in charge of making sure I keep blogging and stay on top of the newest trends.
After years and years of searching for a daily beauty routine that requires minimal effort yet is effective, I have finally found a solution that works for me. I don’t have an extensive beauty routine nor do I wear makeup on a daily basis, but there are a few products that I love.
1.Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser. I have very dry skin and Oxford has notoriously hard water, so keeping my skin moisturized is always a struggle. I use this cleanser every day after I shower and it does wonders! You can choose how much of the cleanser you wash off for the degree of moisturizing that you need (I just blot it with a damp washcloth and keep most of it on).
2. Formula 10.0.6 Face Mask. I started using this face mask twice a week a few months ago and I can really tell a difference in my skin. It does a great job of keeping my skin smooth and bright. I also use the Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser right after taking the mask off to keep my skin hydrated.
3. Covergirl Matte BB Cream. I have used many different BB creams, but this matte one is amazing. It isn’t too thick and goes on so smoothly that you can’t even tell that I’m wearing makeup! I use the 510 or 520 color (depending on how pale I am), but it comes in five different shades.
4.NYX Matte Lip Cream. I used to never put anything on my lips, but then I found these matte lip creams and that completely changed. I am obsessed with these and sometimes I just throw one on with no makeup. Also, the names are the names of major cities all around the world (Istanbul is my favorite (and pictured above)!).
5. TRESemme No-Frizz Creme. I don’t normally have frizzy hair, but the humidity sometimes drives my hair wild. When it’s extra humid out, I use this to calm the frizz and it works great!
My routine slightly changes throughout the year, but I always have these products on hand!
My last post gave some tips on how to prepare for a successful move and now I’d like to share with you some of my favorite go-to items for moving (and even for traveling)! If you can’t already tell, I am very excited to start this new chapter of my life (and to return back south). Ohio has been an interesting experience and has taught me a few things (like how much I dislike winter), but I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
As the packing begins, here are some of the items that are playing a key role in the process!
I love this striped weekender bag, it is the perfect carry-on size when flying and I recently used it on a trip to Alabama and Mississippi. It also is the perfect size to use for an overnight bag for the first night in a new home.
When it comes to packing the majority of my things, I prefer to use these plastic totes instead of boxes because I can keep using them over and over and they come in such cute colors! I also use them for under the bed and off-season clothes storage.
In recent years I have found myself doing more traveling, so I had been on the search for new luggage for quite some time and when I found this rose gold set, I knew my search was over. Not only is it beautiful, but it also makes identifying my luggage at the airport a breeze!
Finally, these Lilly Pulitzer market bags are a game-changer. I use them to pack shoes, spare odds and ends, clothes, groceries, the list is endless. They are so sturdy that I have been using mine for years with no wear and tear (and let’s not forget to mention how adorable they are!).
Now it’s time for me to brave the rain and head to class!
